About Us

Newsome Tools began life in 1967 when Jack Newsome my late father set out on his own selling his wares across the North of England in a Morris Oxford.  Five years latter as an energetic and enthusiastic 18 year old I exchanged my Triumph Herald for a van, joined my father and began my life’s work.

The company proceeded to grow its customer base from our Sheffield home with 2 vans bursting at the seams full of tools.

Over the last five decades Newsome Tools has consistently increased its product offerings and grown its customer base from the UK to other Countries.  We have continued to outgrow our premises from the Company’s inception from a single garage to our current large custom designed facility.

Our team of full time sales representatives visits our UK and Ireland customers regularly and we have distributors in 8 other countries, exporting the Newsome range.

In addition to the consistently growing Newsome products and our exclusive finesse professional user range, we also source, take care of quality control and supply own branding for many companies.  Ranging from expanding entrepreneurs to large well known names through our partners in Taiwan and China.  We also offer a door-to-door inclusive service for companies who wish to outsource their importing activities.

As we approach our half-century our values remain steadfast.  We are a people business!

One third of our staff have been with us for over 30 years or more and many of our customers have also been supplied by us for a similar period of time.

We are now into our third generation, Jonathan, my son joined the company 10 years ago and plays an active role in the sales team.

Our plans for the future involve further growth in both our sales force and the range of products we offer.

Our commitment is to the independent re-seller, everyone within our Company recognizes this and our customers remain our most important voice in product development, helping to develop many of the additions to our range.

In other words, we get it, we listen.

Like every successful company we embrace technology, all its time and efficiency, bringing savings.

However, I hope that you will agree with me that the personal touch, customer service, an eye for quality and value, along with being able to speak to real people, who really care about their customers is still one of the most important values a business can have.  

This along with the virtues of hard work, honesty and personal initiative are what I believe should be the cornerstones of any enterprise.

Listening to our customers is an essential feature of our activity and is as relevant today as we approach our 50th year in business as the day we started.
